New date: December 12, 2015 at Vinoy Park
St. Petersburg, Fla. (June 22, 2015) –Empath Health’s AIDS Service Association of Pinellas (ASAP) presents its 12th annual walk to end HIV – Tampa Bay AIDS Walk & Fun Run, held at Vinoy Park in Downtown St. Petersburg on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015.
Walkers, runners, donors and volunteers who come out to show their support will help to provide much needed resources to ASAP, a leading non-profit HIV/AIDS organization supporting clients and families at locations in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. Its newest location is in Tampa at Tampa Care Clinic, a program of St. Joseph’s Hospital/BayCare.
For the first time this year, a fun run is being added to the beginning of the event. Participants can join the walk or run as an individual or part of a team, and make an impact together. The event supports ASAP and its programs that are dedicated to serving the many people impacted by HIV/AIDS in the Tampa Bay community.
ASAP is seeking donations and volunteers as well. There are two ways people can donate and help:
- Know someone who is walking or running? Donate on behalf of a friend, so he/she gets credit for the donation and reaches his/her personal fundraising goal.
- Interested in helping, but don’t know anyone walking or running? Donate directly to the Tampa Bay AIDS Walk general fund, helping to reach ASAP’s goal of $160,000.
More information about the event can be found online at AIDSWalkTampaBay.org. Registration is free and now open to the public.
