COVID-19 Impacts on EPIC Events, Services and Programs

Out of an abundance of caution and following the recommendations of the CDC and state and local officials, EPIC has made the following changes to our services and events due to the COVID-19 virus:

  • Walk-in HIV testing will continue at our locations. In order to be tested, people will be screened for COVID-19, including having their temperature checked. Masks and hand sanitizer are available for extra protection.
  • Normally-scheduled meals in St. Petersburg are discontinued March 30-April 3 and will be re-evaluated for the following week. Tampa campus meals will be provided for pick-up in the parking lot. Clients will not be allowed to stay on campus following food pick-up.
  • Mental health services will continue but will take place over the phone or video chat.
  • Medical case management appointments will be conducted over the telephone. Case managers will conduct essential appointments face-to-face on an as-needed basis and by appointment.
  • EPIC’s food pantry’s supply levels are low. Pre-assembled bags will be distributed to clients while supplies last. Donations can be made through our Amazon Wish List or call the office closest to you to discuss how you can donate to an EPIC food pantry.
  • All group sessions are cancelled through at least May 1. Anyone needing support is encouraged to call the St. Petersburg or Tampa campus where counselors are available.
  • All clients are asked to please call ahead before coming to an EPIC location.
  • All education and community testing events are cancelled until further notice.

EPIC’s Dining Out for Life fundraising event scheduled for April 30 has been postponed. New event date TBA.

EPIC and Balance Tampa Bay’s 6th Annual Masquerade Ball is postponed until July 31, 2021 at the Tama River Center.
